LIVE IN PROGRAM

     Our department is dedicated to serving the Lower Paxton Township community by providing the highest level of fire protection and emergency medical services. We offer a unique opportunity for existing and developing firefighters to live in a high quality firehouse without feeling overwhelmed by unrealistic expectations or call volumes that makes personal or career development impossible.  Our program supports the largest all volunteer Fire Department in Pennsylvania that continues to respond to 4 counties and numerous municipalities through out Central Pennsylvania. 

Our Facilities

• 10 person day room
• large kitchen area
• shared bathrooms and shower facilities
• Lockable, individual bunk rooms with independent HVAC
• dedicated study and training areas 
• proactive and progressive Driver/Operator program
• On-site gym and fitness facilities
• On-site training facilities including car pad, roof & chimney simulator, forcible entry simulators, and more
• Free cable and internet

Program HIghlights

• All trainings are paid by the Department
• Multiple certification trainings (Proboard/PSFA/IFSAC) held in house each year
• Response stipend program that enables qualified firefighters to earn up to $9,000/year
• New and custom fit turn out gear
• Very little EMS calls
• LOSAP, Township & County Tax Rebate Programs
• Ability to master all aspects of firefighting (Wildland, Engine, Truck, Rescue, and special services).
