For the month of February, Company 35 answered 35 calls for service. We averaged 8 firefighters and 2 fire police officers per call. Our members put forwards 341 administrative hours, 144 training hours, and 151 incident response hours. Our top 5 responders for the month are as follows:
1. Chauffeur J. Edward Crum with 30 calls 2. Fire Police Officer Mike McKenna Sr with 19 calls 3. Fire Chief Bill Payne with 18 calls 4. Lieutenant Ryan Murphy with 18 calls 5. Dan Crum with 18 calls.
On Sunday March 10th we spring forward with our time (and hopefully with our weather too), which is a great time to check your batteries in your smoke detector to ensure that they are working correctly. We also recommend that your vacuum your alarm to remove dust, which is a big contributor to faulty alarms. For more information on smoke detector maintenance, you can check your manufacturer's recommendation for routine cleanings or contact our Company Duty Officer for information.
